Florida City Government Week is an ongoing effort sponsored by the Florida League of Cities to raise public awareness about the services that cities perform, to educate the public on how city government works and to show residents how they can shape and influence this level of government.
During the week of October 23, 2017, many city-related educational activities took place throughout the state.
Because city government is the government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents, it is important that residents understand how their city operates, the services it provides, and the importance of their active involvement. The theme My City: I’m Part of It, I’m Proud of It will guide this year’s activities.
