Wellington is committed to the sustainability of our Great Hometown and the quality of life enjoyed by all of our residents. One of the many value-added elements, to living in Wellington, include property values, which are in part upheld by Wellington standards. These standards, along with great schools, parks, and safe neighborhoods are a few of the many reasons individuals and families choose to live and invest in our Great Hometown. Community Services provides a number of community grant opportunities that support neighborhood improvement and increase community engagement. Eligibility for these grants requires a level of participation and investment from the property owner. Currently, Community Services offers two grant opportunities:

 

Neighbors of Wellington

Neighbors of Wellington grant is only available to active Neighborhood Watch Groups that have held two meetings within the last six months and are interested in hosting a neighborhood block party.

Great Neighborhoods Grant

The purpose of this grant is to provide assistance to income-eligible Village of Wellington residents to repair their homes. This grant does require a dollar for dollar match by the applicant and is available on a first come first serve basis. Applications will be received until all of the funding has been utilized.

Responsive Government/Neighborhood Renaissance; utilize CDBG funds to assist low and moderate income homeowners correct code violations, address health and safety issues, update one or more major systems such as electrical, plumbing, roofing and heating ventilation and air conditioning, install energy efficiency improvement such as windows, doors and insulation and modifications to remove barriers and improve accessibility for the elderly and disabled.
