Wellington Honors Clerks this Municipal Clerks Week
Wellington Council issues proclamation declaring the week of May 6-12, 2018 as "Municipal Clerks Week"
Wellington Council issued a proclamation declaring the week of May 6-12, 2018 as "Municipal Clerks Week" in the Village of Wellington.
In issuing the proclamation, Council extended appreciation to all municipal and deputy clerks for the services they provide their communities. Specifically, the Proclamation recognizes the Clerk as the professional link between the citizens, the local governing bodies, and agencies of government at other levels. It also honors municipal and deputy clerks for continually striving to improve the administration of their duties through participation in education programs, seminars, workshops, and annual meetings.
The International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), a professional association of city, town, township, village, borough, deputy and county clerks, sponsors Municipal Clerks Week. IIMC has 14,500 members throughout the United States, Canada, and 15 other countries.
Chevelle D. Nubin, MMC, has served as Wellington’s Village Clerk since March 2017 and has been a member of IIMC since 2003.
Chevelle is also an active member of the Florida League of Cities Municipal Administration Committee, the Florida Association of City Clerks, and the Palm Beach County Municipal Clerks Association.
