[ARCHIVED] House Watch Program in Partnership with Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office

palm beach county sheriffs office vehicle

Wellington and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office District 8 encourage residents to sign up for the Village’s House Watch Program before going on vacation.

This free service is exactly as its name suggests; if you plan to be away from your home or business for an extended period of time, let PBSO know and a deputy will periodically stop by and keep an eye on your property. Deputies will check for signs of intrusion, unauthorized vehicles parked on your property, and suspicious and unauthorized people, and they will also check that windows are intact and have no broken glass.

Those interested in signing up for the House Watch Program must meet the following criteria:

  • Your residence must be within Wellington’s municipal boundaries
  • Complete your form at least 3 days prior to your scheduled departure
  • Your extended vacation or business trip must be more than 3 days
  • Before you leave, be sure to secure your home and set your alarm

Signing up for Home Watch is quick and simple. Visit wellingtonfl.gov/publicsafety; scroll down to the District 8 House Watch Program icon. Click on the icon and complete the form on PBSO’s website.

Once your form is submitted and received, Deputies will periodically stop by to check on your property as time, staffing, and calls for service allow.
