[ARCHIVED] Council Appoints Michael Drahos as New Vice Mayor

Councilman Michael Drahos

Wellington’s Council appointed Councilman Michael Drahos as the Village’s new Vice Mayor at their meeting on April 12, 2022. Mr. Drahos was elected to the Village Council for a four-year term commencing on March 22, 2016. He previously served as Vice Mayor from 2018 to 2019. Vice Mayor Drahos is committed to ensuring credibility and fairness at Village Hall. As a resident and a leader, he continues to look for ways to improve our already Great Hometown.

Wellington’s previous Vice Mayor was Councilman John T. McGovern. McGovern was recently re-elected to Council and has served our community as Vice Mayor for two separate terms, from 2016 to 2018, and from 2021 to 2022. Wellington thanks Councilman McGovern for his leadership and dedication throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

The Village’s Charter requires the Council to appoint a Vice Mayor every year, for a two-year term. The position customarily goes to the next-senior member of the Council. Learn more about Wellington’s Council by visiting
