Wellingtons Emergency Operations staff is currently monitoring Hurricane Elsa, which is now a Category 1 storm. While the exact intensity and track of the storm remain uncertain, South Florida remains in the five-day forecast cone. Most models keep the storm on the West Coast or in the Gulf of Mexico, reaching the area on Tuesday, July 6. Like you, we are keeping a close eye on the forecast and making necessary preparations before a potential storm. Our Surface Water team has been clearing debris from our canals and pumping water to ensure they are at their optimal levels ahead of heavy rainfall. We encourage everyone to review their storm plans and get their home ready to weather future storms.
