Wellington’s Planning & Zoning Department will begin accepting applications for the Temporary COVID-19 Rental and Utility Assistance Program through its online application portal on Monday, March 15th at 8:00 AM.
This temporary program funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and CDBG’s Cares Act provides a one-time rental and utility assistance to low and moderate-income Wellington residents who have experienced a loss of income, reduction in hours, or unemployment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance is on a "first-eligible, first-served" basis.
This temporary assistance program will provide a maximum of $5,000 per household for rental assistance and/or $500 for Utility Assistance.
Those interested in the program may review specific eligibility requirements, frequently asked questions, and access the online application by visiting Wellington’s Rental and Utility Assistance webpage at wellingtonfl.gov/CommunityAssistance. For questions about the program, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Village extends its gratitude to the Wellington Community Foundation for funding the Utility (water and sewer) portion of this assistance program. The Foundation’s contributions will help keep the water on for those struggling through the pandemic.
