Wellington's Council received the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the year ended September 30, 2020, at their March 9, 2021, Council Meeting.
Grau & Associates Certified Public Accountants conducted the annual audit issuing an unmodified, clean opinion, the highest opinion possible. An unmodified opinion indicates that the financial statements, in all material respects, fairly present the financial position and the respective changes in the financial position of the Village of Wellington. This year’s annual report marks the sixth consecutive year with a clean, unmodified opinion. Ms. Racquel McIntosh discussed the annual report and commended Council and Staff for outstanding work to complete the audit during a pandemic while completing the five-year implementation of new enterprise resource planning software throughout the Village.
The annual report contains the Village’s audited financial statements and other financial information. It also contains information about the local economy, the structure of Wellington’s government, future financial plans, and policies.
“All of Council fully supports transparency and responsible fiscal management of our residents’ taxes. This year in particular has shown the importance of strong financial resources to enable us to maintain Wellington as our great hometown,” Mayor Gerwig said. “The annual audit, budget process, and long-range financial planning are critical to sustaining our community.”
The latest annual report, along with all financial reports, including the Budget, external audit reports, and Public Annual Financial Reports, are available from the Village. Visit our Public Information Request webpage to learn how to request this information.
