Wellington will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a virtual celebration premiering on Monday, January 18th at 10:00 AM.
This year’s celebration is an opportunity to come together (virtually) as a community in solidarity, appreciation, and reflection on how we are keeping Dr. King’s ideals alive and to make “the promises of democracy” real.
The celebration features an expression of unity through presentations, discussions, music, dance, and expressive performances.
Visit our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Virtual Celebration webpage for more information about this year’s event.
Wellington also invites residents to tune into WellingtonTV (Comcast 18, AT&T Uverse 99) to watch pre-recorded videos honoring Dr. King throughout the day on January 18th; follow the village’s social media pages for more videos and content.
Special thanks to the Karamu House, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia, and Dr. Terriel Byrd, for partnering with the Village and allowing Wellington to share their virtual programming opportunities to commemorate Dr. King’s vision of diversity and equality.
