As part of ongoing efforts to protect the health and wellness of residents, visitors, and staff, Wellington Emergency Officials announce the following changes in operations:
Village Hall will be open for in-person service Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM starting Monday, June 29, 2020. Residents wishing to conduct business with the Village after 1:00 PM or on Fridays must schedule an appointment by calling (561) 791-4000. Appointments are for transactions that require customers to be present such as pre-application meetings and certifying documents.
Wellington strongly encourages use of our online service options. Our website is a convenient way of completing almost all transactions online without traveling to Village Hall. Our How Do I webpage is a one-stop-resource to Apply, Pay, or Register for Village services. Wellington also asks all customers to sign up for online Utility payments.
For everyone’s safety, we ask that visitors follow these simple measures when visiting Village facilities:
• Wear facial covering: Anyone entering Village Hall, including those with an appointment, must wear a face mask or cloth face covering.
• Observe social distancing: Keeping at least 6 feet of distance from other visitors and follow all markings on the floor.
Plexiglas shields have been installed in our customer service areas. Reminders for maintaining social distancing have also been placed throughout the lobby area. The use of appointments for in-person service will reduce the number of visitors in the lobby at one time and help protect against the spread of illness. For additional information, visit the Village’s Serving You Safely webpage.
The Wellington Aquatics Complex is CLOSED until further notice.
Open Gym at Village Park is SUSPENDED until further notice. Supervised indoor programs remain as scheduled.
Many other Parks and Recreation facilities have reopened with occupancy, play, and usage limitations. Visit Wellington’s Parks and Facilities webpage for detailed information.
Wellington staff hoped to continue resuming normal operations at these popular Village facilities and continue offering recreational programs; however, COVID-19 data over the past few days has shown increases in cases, hospitalizations, and in influenza-like illnesses in our County. After careful consideration, we have decided to take these additional precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.
Wellington Emergency Officials will continue working closely with the Florida Department of Health and Palm Beach County, to monitor the health data as we make decisions about facility openings. We all hope that COVID rates will start to trend downward, and allow expanded use.
We appreciate your cooperation as we work to safely reopen our community.
