[ARCHIVED] Wellington Hosts "A Day for Autism" Picnic

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy poses with girl and boy and k9 at the 2019 A Day for Autism Pi

The third annual A Day for Autism event takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wellington Community Center greenspace (12150 Forest Hill Blvd.) This FREE community event is a partnership between the Village, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), and Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD). The goal is to build bridges between law enforcement, fire rescue services, and people with autism.

This year’s picnic includes fun games, arts & crafts, a petting zoo, and more. PBSO’s K9 and mounted units will be ready to greet visitors, along with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue trucks. FAU CARD staff and local vendors will provide information and resources.

Lunch will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP through the A Day for Autism 2020 Eventbrite webpage.

Thank you to our sponsors the Wellington Community Foundation, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Foundation, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, The Wellness Experience, Bolay, Jupiter Bounce, State Farm, Art Cellar, Paint Lux Auto Body & Paint Specialist, Pasch Law, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Specialty Center for making this event possible.
