Wellington’s Council invites residents to join them in celebrating the re-opening of Essex Park (located at 1250 Essex Drive in the South Shore community). A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the park on January 28, 2020, starting at 5:30 PM.

The ceremony will begin with comments by Wellington’s Council outlining the importance of this Capital Improvement Project. Council will then cut the ceremonial ribbon, declaring the park officially open to the public.

Essex Park has been closed since August 2019 for improvements. Upgrades include a new observation deck, an additional sidewalk path, a water fountain, a picnic table, an updated rubber top on the playground, as well as lighting improvements.
