During this critical time, federal, state and local officials are taking steps necessary to address problems we are seeing for the first time. New terms come into our vocabulary almost daily. We all understand “social distancing”, but there is another term we must address, “mass gatherings”. A “mass gathering” is a group of 10 or more people. Many of us assume that “mass gatherings” are only critical if they are at a retail location or public space. Let’s think about that, what about the pools, club houses and eating spaces in our gated communities. It is just as important to limit “mass gatherings” in these places as it is in restaurants, bars, gyms and theaters. We need you and your residents to continue to be diligent and to take personal responsibility during this time. Voluntary regulation of “mass gatherings” is the best solution. We would prefer not to be the ones regulating “mass gatherings” in common spaces, but “flattening the curve” is in every ones best interests.
- Practice social distancing – even with your neighbors; this includes when you’re waiting to buy or pick-up food at your local clubhouse restaurant or getting out to get fresh air
- Stop “Mass Gatherings” - groups of 10 or more people are prohibited by the Governor’s executive order. More than that, they place the entire group at risk.
Thank you for your continued efforts. Together we can get through this pandemic and minimize the impacts to our community, family, and friends.
