NEW! Intro to Music

Ages 10 and up

Want to learn how to make music? Want to have fun learning the basics of music theory, musical instruments’ classifications, and to find what instrument you may be best suited to play? Join our exciting new program and we’ll get you started in the world of music! You will gain an appreciation for the different genres of music with our Intro to Music course.

Once you’ve participated in the Intro class, students will be able to register for Fun with Music.

at the Wellington Community Center.

Ages 10 and up

Want to continue learning in the realm of music? Fun with Music will take you to the next step in your musical career!

Class topics include: 

  • 7 Elements of Music
  • Anatomy of the instrument
  • Breathing/buzzing exercises 
  • Ear training
  • Fingering and note matching drills
  • Improvisation and melodic exercises
  • Intro to Jazz
  • Selection of brass instrument
  • Rhythm drills
  • Scales
  • Sight reading

Previous participation in Intro to Music is required to register for Fun with Music. Registration will be accepted at the Wellington
