Coach Lina Bio
Coach Lina earned both the American Red Cross Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor Certification in 2005. In January 2020, she joined Wellington Swim Club (WSC), a Gold status United States Master Swimming (USMS) Team as an assistant coach, subsequently taking over as Head Coach, later that year.
The following year she became a Level 1-basics of coaching, then a Level 2-stroke development and safety, and now a Level 3-program management, leadership, and administration, USMS Certified Coach. Adding Adult-Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) Certified Instructor to her resume, WSC can now participate in USMS’s annual Adult Learn To Swim month in April.
WSC is a club for any person over 18 and accommodates all skill levels and goals. The team is composed of fitness swimmers, competitive swimmers, triathletes, and athletes who are looking to add swimming to their workouts for cross-training.
Coach Lina stays active in all things swimming. Coaching the first three developmental groups for Wahoos of Wellington USA Swimming Team, and instructing with LB Swim, LLC when not on the pool deck. Her weekends consist mostly of swim meets for either the Wahoos or WSC.
Having recently become a competitive swimmer she doesn’t just “walk the swim, she swims the swim.” When not in or around the water, Coach Lina is also an aunt to two very active nieces and a happy dog mom.
She also runs the team's Instagram Account @wellington_swimclub and website.
