Lifeguard Training & Certification

Junior Lifeguard – Ages 10 to 14

Are you interested in becoming a Lifeguard but aren’t 15? If you are between the ages of 10 and 14, Junior Lifeguarding may be for you! You will learn the basics of lifeguarding, surveillance, and how you can assist at the pool.

Days / Time

  • Monday through Thursday
  • 10 am to 1 pm

Sessions

  • June 5 to June 8
  • June 19 to June 22
  • July 10 to July 13
  • July 24 to July 27

Cost (Resident & Non-Resident)

$90 per participant, per session

Lifeguard Certification Classes

This class teaches entry-level participants the skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies, and to provide care until EMS personnel arrive. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified in

  • CPR/AED 
  • First Aid
  • Lifeguarding

Class Dates & Times

Participants must be able to attend all class dates to complete the certification.

Registration – $290

Participants must be able to attend all four class dates to complete the certification, must be at least 15 years of age, and must be able to

  • Swim 300 yards continuously 
  • Swim 25 yards, retrieve a 10lb weight from a water depth of 10 feet, and swim it 25 yards back to the starting point and exit the pool in under 1 minute and 40 seconds 
  • Tread water using legs only for 2 minutes
  • Exit the water without using a ladder or step

Registration fee includes the course, certification, and class materials.
