Public Safety

Wellington has a contract with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) for law enforcement services. PBSO runs a local substation (District 8) located at 14000 Greenbriar Boulevard. The District 8 Wellington substation can be reached at 561-688-5447 during their normal business hours (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.).

There are 57 sworn officers and 58 civilian employees (including crossing guards) at the substation. The commanding officer is Captain Rolando Silva. Wellington spends $8.2 million per year on law enforcement services.

The 24-hour non-emergency number for the PBSO main headquarters is 561-688-3000. In an emergency, always dial 911. Wellington works closely with both the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to maintain the highest level of services for the residents of Wellington.
