Dog Obedience

Dog Obedience Training – Ages 16+

Train with Barb Forgash, who has 35+ years of dog training experience. Barb will be teaching 2 classes at the Village of Wellington. These “active teaching” classes are 8 weeks long and take place in the safely sectioned-off area of the Wellington Community Center's parking lot and grass area.

Course Descriptions

Puppy Kindergarten & Basic Home Obedience

  • Puppy Kindergarten (puppies under 6 months of age) blended with Basic Home Obedience (dogs over 6 months). 
  • No dogs first day of class.

Intermediate & Beyond

  • Intermediate & Beyond is designed for dogs who have successfully completed a dog class through the Village of Wellington, or upon teacher recommendation.

Session Information


Session 1
January 6 through March 9

  • Classes held on Mondays
  • No class on January 20 and February 17

Session 2 
March 23 through May 11

  • Classes held on Mondays and select Wednesdays

Class Times

  • Puppy Kindergarten & Basic Home Obedience, 6:30 to 7:30 pm
  • Intermediate & Beyond, 7:30 to 8:30 pm 
  • Classes are held on the class dates listed above

Registration

Registration is open to anyone 16 or older who has never titled a dog in obedience, and must be completed in-person at the Wellington Community Center or Village Park Gym.

Cost

  • $40 residents
  • $50 non-residents
