Wellington’s Foreclosures 911 Program brings community stakeholders together

March 31, 2009

Wellington, in partnership with the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches, held its first kickoff meeting of the year-long educational symposium, Foreclosures 911, on Thursday, March 26th at the Wellington Community Center. Over 150 people came together ranging from legal professionals to residents in need of assistance to discuss the problems regarding foreclosures. Information was gathered through a survey designed to educate the Village on the needs of the community and the most pressing issues faced by our residents. Results will be discussed at our next meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at 7 PM at the Wellington Community Center.

The Village and the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches will continue to seek input from the residents throughout the next year during the educational symposium to ensure that the most up-to-date and relevant information is provided. Residents are encouraged to visit the Village’s website at www.wellingtonfl.gov for foreclosure assistance information, a copy of the survey results once posted, and to join the newly formed Citizens Volunteer Organization to become involved in the community.

For questions or further information, please call Meridith Tuckwood, Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches at (561) 585-4544 or the Village at (561) 791-4000.
