Q. When do I need a public works permit?
- When any or all of the following activities are being performed:
- Hauling on shellrock roads
- Installing Irrigation
- Installing Utilities
- Right-of-Way Encroachments
- Culvert Installations
- Work in Easements
Q. How can I get street lighting on my street?
Put a request in writing and identify why light is warranted (identify safety concerns, provide accident and/or crash data, burglaries, etc.) Obtain written approval from adjacent property owners affected by lighting. Once these items are collected and submitted to the office of Public Works Department, the staff will perform a lighting study and recommend whether or not lighting is warranted.

Q. Who do I call to report a traffic light problem?
Palm Beach County maintains the traffic lights throughout the Village. Traffic light problems can be reported to (561) 233-3900.
Q. Who do I call to report a pot-hole?
Contact Public Works at (561) 791-4003 to report a pot-hole on any public road or Village owned property. To report a pot-hole on a private road or parking lot, contact the HOA or property manager.
Q. Who do I call to report damaged sidewalk?
Contact Public Works at (561) 791-4003 to report a damaged sidewalk along any public road. To report a damaged sidewalk on a private road, contact the HOA or property manager.
Q. How can I get missing street signs or other traffic signs replaced?
Contact Public Works at (561) 791-4003. If you live in a private subdivision, contact your HOA or property manager.
Q. Who do I call if there is a dead animal in the road?
Contact Public Works at (561) 791-4003 if there is a dead animal in the road. If the animal is on private property, it is the property owners responsibility to remove it.
Q. What do I do with an alligator on my property?
Alligators are protected by law, and only State designated trappers may remove them. Please call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at (561) 625-3928.
Q. I want to remove some trees from my property. What is the procedure?
You must apply for a tree removal permit through the Building Department to remove any trees from your property, including dead or diseased trees. For more information please call (561) 753-2430.
