Q. Where are you located?

We are located at 12794 W. Forest Hill Blvd Suite 23. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 7AM to 4PM and we can be reached at (561) 753-2430.

Q. When do I need an engineering permit?

When site development requires any or all of the following activities:

  • Land Development
  • Filling
  • Excavation
  • Paving, Grading and Drainage
  • Water and Sewer
  • Overlaying

Q. What are the fees associated with an engineering permit?

A permit and inspection fee schedule can be found on page two (2) of the engineering permit application.

Q. Where do I obtain an engineering permit?

Permit forms may be downloaded from the Engineering webpage or picked up at the office of Engineering Services located at 12794 W. Forest Hill Blvd Suite 23. Call (561) 753-2430 for more information.

Q. Who do I call for an engineering inspection?

To schedule an engineering inspection as part of your Engineering Permit Application (ENG-#), please call (561) 753-2430.

If you are requesting a final engineering inspection as part of your Building Department Permit Application (YEAR-#), please schedule this through the Building Departments automated inspection hotline at (561) 753-2418. option # 1.

Q. How can I check on the status of an engineering permit application?

Please allow a minimum of 10 (ten) business days for the engineering department to conduct its permit review and approval process. If permit application is approved, you will be contacted by telephone to arrange for pickup or mailing of the permit.

Q. How can I get a speed limit changed or speed humps installed on my street?

Send your request by mail addressed to Wellington at 14000 Greenbriar Blvd., Wellington, Florida, 33414, noting specific reasons for your request. The Engineering Services department will evaluate existing conditions to determine if the request is warranted. Speed limits are set by the State depending on the classification of the road such as a local collector or arterial road. Engineering studies and warrants are required to modify the adopted speed limits.

For traffic calming measures view Resolution No. R2007-36 as approved by Council outlining the policy and criteria required for the installation of speed humps.

Q. Where can I obtain Wellington Water and Wastewater Specifications?

Water and Wastewater Specifications can be obtained on CD-ROM from the office of Engineering Services for a fee of $25.00 (exact cash or check made payable to Wellington.) An approved product list is available on the Engineering website.

Q. I am constructing a livestock waste storage structure on my property, what do I need to know?

A building permit must be obtained prior to any construction or reconstruction of the structure. Structures shall be constructed so that no rainfall is allowed to enter or so that no liquid is released. Additional guidelines can be found in the BMP – Livestock Waste Storage brochure.
