Q. How does someone obtain a copy of Wellington Comprehensive Plan?

Wellington Comprehensive Plan may be viewed or downloaded from the Village web page here or a copy may be obtained from the Village’s Community Services Department at 12794 West Forest Hill Boulevard, Suite 10, in the Wellington Mall.

Q. What are the deadlines for submitting applications to amend Wellington Comprehensive Plan?

Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, allows for amendments to local comprehensive plans up to two times per calendar year. The Village’s deadlines to submit applications for Comprehensive Plan amendments are October 1 and April 1 of each year. One exception is for Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendments, which are for properties of ten acres or less. Applications for small-scale amendments may be submitted anytime.

Q. How often is Wellington Comprehensive Plan updated?

Chapter 163, Florida Statues (F.S.), requires that local comprehensive plans be reviewed and updated at least every seven years. The report resulting from the review is known as an “Evaluation and Appraisal Report” or EAR. The recommendations in the report form the basis for subsequent amendments to the Comprehensive Plan. The Council, advisory boards, staff, or the public may proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan anytime, but are limited to two amendment rounds per calendar year, per Chapter 163, F.S.
