Water Supply Well Rehabilitation: All Webbs Enterprises
New Hydrogeologic Consultant will prepare scope of work after October 1, 2017 for the rehabilitation of four wells. Construction work anticipated to commence in November.

SE Lake Wellington Area: Keshavarz authorized on March 14th
Condition Assessment report to consider replacement of all watermains and services and rehabilitation of gravity sanitary sewer system
Status: Project on schedule to be complete by September 2017.

Sugar Pond Area: Keshavarz and Associates authorized on April 25, 2017
Condition Assessment Report to consider replacement of all watermains and services and rehabilitation of gravity sanitary sewer system.
Status: Field work to commenced. Project on schedule.

Forcemain Model Development of forecemain hydraulic model.

WRMC Bypass/Meter Kimley Horn approved April 18th
Project includes survey, design and construction of a new meter to provide redundancy to our largest customer.
Status: 60% plans submitted

Southshore FM Replacement Mock Roos – PO pending Council approval August 2017.
Preliminary Routing/Cost Study to replace forcemain from Forest Hill to Pierson Road.

Sanitary Sewer Lift Station Improvements

2017- 9 Stations PDR Mock Roos & Associates Authorized January 25th
Scope includes condition assessment of Lift Stations 5, 18, 39, 41, 44, 47, 61, 74 and 85
Status: Meeting to review final report conducted. Requested scope to design modifications to LS 5, 39, 41, 44, 74 & 85.

Systemwide Lift Station PDR Mock Roos & Associates Council approved on June 13th
Status: Kickoff meeting held on July 26th.

Village Royale Phase II Mock Roos & Associates authorized March 28th
Scope: includes hydraulic analysis of lift stations downstream of Village Royale Tie In.
Status: Final report received. Work complete.

Communications & Technology Improvements
TROPOS Phase I Kimley Horn Authorized on February 15th
Includes design to replace backhaul radio system
Status: Project will be bid commencing July 31st .

WTP/WRC SCADA Upgrade Process Control Consultant - Authorized
Scope: Includes upgrade from GE Ifix to Trihedral VTScada
Status: Kick-off meeting scheduled for August 23rd.

Utility Department Non Capital Projects

WTP/ WRF Generator Emissions Global Tech approved December 20, 2016
Status: Project on hold. Regulatory review.

2017 Utility Rate Study EFG Financial Consultants/Rob Ori authorized on April 25th. Status: Work has commenced.

Utility Engineering Standards Revisions underway and are expected to be complete in September of 2017.

WWTP DEP Permit Renewal Kimley Horn approved on April 14th.
Water Reclamation Facility Permit expires in November of 2017. Draft permit received.

Tampering Ordinance The Utility is preparing an Ordinance for presentation to Council establishing fines, penalties and alternative enforcement provisions for tampering with the public utility system.

Assessment Ordinance The Utility is preparing an Ordinance to formalize the process and procedures relative to water and wastewater utility assessment projects.

ENGINEERING  

A. Village Capital Projects

  1. Pierson Road Bridle Trail – 800’ east of South Shore to Southfields Road
    Status Update: The Engineering Department is completing the design and construction documents.
  2. South Shore Boulevard/Pierson Road Intersection Improvements
    Status Update: The work order with Mock Roos ($49,871.00) for the intersection PD&E study and cost estimate development was approved at the April 12th Council meeting. The study kick off meeting was held on April 18th. Mock Roos is finalizing the intersection layout and the options for piping the canal.
  3. Scott’s Place – Lighting and Shade Improvements
    Status Update: The design for the lighting and security cameras is complete. A purchase order was completed and sent to Cerrito Electric the week of Augsut 29, 2017. The underground locates have been completed by the contractor and the electrical work is anticpated to begin next week.The shade structure contractor has commenced work. The shop drawing approvals and the fabrication of the structural members is continuing
  4. Pierson Road / South Shore Blvd. Northbound Right Turn Lane Extension
    Status Update: 100% design plans are complete. The bids were received on April 19th. Council approved the bid on May 9th. A pre-construction meeting was held on June 7th. Construction commenced on July 5th.
    The utility work order has been approved and the subcontractor (Johnson Davis) is scheduled to commence the additional work next week. The additional ARV has caused significant contract delays. The Prime (Rosso) has requested an additional 20 days (and counting) of contract time. The project is most likely going to extend substantial completion through the end of September and final into mid-October. Rosso will most likely ask for additional funds for MOT since the project has been delayed by forces other than their own.
  5. Big Blue Trace/Barberry
    Status Update: The Council approved the work order proposal with Kimley-Horn & Associates at the August 8th meeting. The kick-off meeting was held on September 14, 2017 form KHA.
    The project also includes the roadway improvements near Wellington Elementary School to improve the drop off issue that currently exist in the Big Blue Trace right of way. This construction will be completed with the turn lane improvements project. Construction of this project is anticipated to commence in June 2018 after school is out for the summer.
  6. Big Blue Trace/Wiltshire
    Status Update: Construction commenced on July 5, 2017. The project is substantially complete.
  7. Forest Hill Boulevard/C-8 Canal Improvements
    Status Update: Survey and design work are currently underway.
    An additional work order in the amount of $15,124 was processed for the study of the storm pipe bore analysis to limit the impact on the maintenance of traffic required on Forest Hill Boulevard. The 40% review construction documents are due on September 8th. Final plans should be completed by the beginning of December. Construction is anticipated to commence in March 2018.
  8. Public Works Retention Area Project
    Status Update: The architect is finalizing the Master Plan layout for the Public Works site.
  9. Dorchester Park Observation Platform
    Status Update: The projects design is complete. The pre-bid meeting was held on July 20th. Three bids were received on August 3rd. The bids will be presented for Council’s consideration on September 12th. Construction is anticipated to commence in October 2017.
  10. Binks Pointe Pathway Project
    Status Update: Council approved the consulting engineering work order at the July 11th Council meeting. WGI is currently working on the preliminary civil and structural (bridge) design for the project.
  11. Brown Trail Expansion (C-11/C-15 Canal Improvements
    Status Update: The project is currently under design. The 30% plans were submitted on August 18th and comments were returned to Mock Roos on August 23rd.
  12. Forest Hill Boulevard Drainage Improvement Project – Near Ken Adams Way
    Status Update: The project is the fix of a potential flooding problem on Forest Hill Boulevard. The Council awarded the contact to D.S. Eakins at the Augsut 8, 2017 meeting.
    The construction contract was finalized on August 28th. Construction is anticipated to commence in the bginning of October 2017.
  13. Little Ranches Bridge
    Status Update: The scope of work has been finalized with Kimley Horn and Associates. We are currently waiting on the final proposal.
  14. Pump Station #2 Improvements
    Status Update: We are currently waiting on the final proposal from Mock Roos.
  15. Village Park Baseball Field Drainage Improvements
    Status Update: The survey is complete and received. The project is currently on hold.
  16. Patriot Memorial Trellis Repair
    Status Update: Bid opening date is scheduled for September 21,2017.
  17. Aquatic Center Pool Restroom Renovations
    Status Update: The design is being completed by the Engineering Department and should be complete by the week of September 18, 2017.
  18. Big Blue Trace Entry Wall Monument
    Status Update: The structural design should be complete by September 18, 2017.
  19. Village Hall/WCC Green Areas Power Pedestals
    Status Update: Smith Enginerring submitted 90% construction documents for our review on Augsut 30, 2017.

B. Permitted Projects

  1. 40th Street Improvements:
    Status Update: The 40th Street project was anticipated to be substantially complete by September 1, 2017, however this did not occur. Construction Update:
    • The paving at the South Shore Boulevard intersection is complete.
    • The Enginerring Department is checking on the status of signal operation and the impact Hurricane Irma will have on its activation.
    • The roadway will not be opened until the paving, temporary striping, signalization and guard rail are complete.
    • The construction of the bridle path,retention areas, swales, canal and guard rail is continuing.
