Father Daughter Dance


The Father Daughter Dance returns Saturday, February 3, 2018. This year's theme is "A Night Among the Stars". Designed for children ages 5-14, this unique Father–Daughter Dance, treasured by daddies and daughters alike, includes dinner, dancing, games, take home photos and keepsakes.

The cost is $50 per couple for residents and $62.50 for non-resident couples. Additional individual tickets, can be purchased for $20 each. 

Lakeside Family Fun Days

The Village of Wellington is excited to announce “Lakeside Family Fun Days”, a series of family-friendly events on Lake Wellington, located behind the Wellington Community Center.

Each event features a variety of FREE activities for the entire family to enjoy! Activities are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each day, and include kayaking, paddle boarding, bounce houses, lawn games, and demonstrations with local organizations under the pavilion. Additional scheduled activities include yoga, meditation, zumba, art activities with the Wellington Art Society, a reptile meet and greet, and more!

Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Lakeside Family Fun Nights

Lakeside Family Fun Nights Menu ImageIn addition to its “Lakeside Family Fun Days” series of events, Wellington is excited to announce the addition of two “Family Fun Nights” on Lake Wellington, behind the Wellington Community Center.

Each event features a different theme, with “Mardi Gras” set for Tuesday, March 20th, and a “Lei’d Back Luau” scheduled for Thursday, April 26th. Both events run from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and are FREE to attend.

The “Mardi Gras” night on Tuesday, March 20th, will include: a live jazz band, food trucks, face painting, a balloon artist, lawn games, and a Mardi Gras boat parade! The boat parade starts at 7:00 p.m. Those interested in participating may contact Jack Brownson at

The “Lei’d Back Luau” night on Thursday, April 26th, features live Island-style music, food trucks from Wellington’s Thursday night Food Truck series, Hula dancers, face painting, a balloon artist, lawn games, and a Polynesian show featuring dances from Hawaii and Tahiti starting at 5:30 p.m. Guests are invited to learn how to hula with the dancers, and remain after the show for photo opportunities!

Both events include refreshments available for purchase (cash only).

Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Egg Hunt


EggHunt_menuThe annual Wellington Egg Hunt is a FREE event held on the Saturday before Easter at the softball fields at Village Park, and begins at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Please remember to bring your own basket or bag to collect your eggs. Over 50,000 eggs are spread throughout the fields for this popular community event. Eggs found with pink bunny tickets inside earn a special prize!  Fields are separated by age groups: 2 and under, ages 3-4, ages 5-7, and ages 8-10.

Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration

EarthDay_ArborDay_2017-webThe community is invited to attend Wellington's FREE annual Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration at the Wellington Amphitheater, and learn about recycling, composting, and respecting the earth. The celebration features live music, local vendors showcasing earth friendly products, free samples and giveaways. Each year the Wellington Council plants a native Florida tree in honor of Arbor Day.

Memorial Day

memorialdayEach year, the Village of Wellington and the American Legion Chris Reyka Memorial Wellington Post 390 honors all veterans with a Memorial Day Ceremony. Veterans are invited to walk in a Memorial Day Parade beginning at 8:15 a.m. by Village Hall located at 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard. The parade ends at Wellington’s Veterans Memorial located on the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and South Shore Boulevard and will be followed at 8:30 am by the Memorial Day Ceremony. 

July 4th Celebration

The Village of Wellington celebrates July 4th with a full day of fun and activities. Families and friends can enjoy a Patriotic Pool Party at the Wellington Aquatics Complex (regular admission applies), with activities and contests scheduled on the hour, and then head home and get ready for the fun and fireworks scheduled at Village Park.


Wellington's largest FREE event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with live music and entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, a petting zoo, traditional games (pie eating, watermelon eating, hula hoops, egg toss, sack races, tug-o-war), food trucks, vendors, Free Bingo sponsored by Humana, Inc. and more! The evening is topped off with an incredible Zambelli Fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

Visible from Village Park and surrounding areas, this spectacular display will be sure to please the entire family! Music will also broadcast to add an extra level of flare to these fabulous fireworks!

Free shuttle transportation service is available from The Mall at Wellington Green at the Palm Tran bus stop beginning at 6 pm, however the shuttles do not run while the Fireworks show is in progress.

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

911Remembrance_reducedThe community is invited to join Wellington’s Council on September 11th, at 6:00 p.m., to honor the victims with a remembrance ceremony at the Patriot Memorial, located next to Village Hall at 12198 Forest Hill Boulevard. The Village Council will share their thoughts and lay a memorial wreath for those lost and affected by the attacks.

Wellington dedicated its Patriot Memorial on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The memorial includes one of the largest steel beams salvaged from the World Trade Center as well as an eternal flame, fountain and etched glass panels inscribed with the names of the victims.

World Peace Day Ceremony

During the month of September, International Peace Day is celebrated across the country and around the world. Each year, Wellington and the Wellington Rotary Club hosts an International World Peace Day Ceremony. The ceremony takes place at the Rotary Peace Park, located at the intersection of Royal Fern Drive and Birkdale Drive. The ceremony commemorates and strengthens the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

80s 1980s Class Reunion Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Theatre Wellington 2017One of our most popular annual events, the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater, is scheduled in the Fall of each year at the Wellington Community Center. Each event features a different theme, and it is up to attendees to solve the murder! Past themes have included “Murder at the Masquerade Ball”, "Murder at the Speakeasy", "Murder in the Wild West", "Murdered by the Mob", "Murder on the High Seas", and more. Attendees are encouraged to attend in costume, and prizes are given out at the end of the evening.

Veterans Day

Veterans dayHeld on November 11th each year, the Village of Wellington and the American Legion Chris Reyka Memorial Wellington Post 390 honor all current and former members of the armed forces with a Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony. The parade begins at 8:15 a.m., commencing from Village Hall, located at 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard. The parade is followed by a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial, located on the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and South Shore Boulevard.
