Eligibility & Requirements
To Be Eligible
- All performers must be at least 8 years old by June 30, 2012.
- No dangerous items involved in the act (i.e. fire or knives).
- A performer must reside in Palm Beach County.
- All performers must be nonprofessional. You may not generate more than 25% of your wages from performing.
- If it is a group or troupe at least 50% should reside in Palm Beach County.
- All previous winners from Wellington Idol or Wellington Talent Search are ineligible.

- Scenes or Monologues
- Others (Instrumentalists, Comedians, Magic Arts, Impressionist, etc.)
Auditions
Once your entry is received it will be reviewed by a selection committee. Approximately 48 to 60 entries will be selected for the live audition. If your entry is selected you will be contacted no later than July 2nd, 2012.
- Contestants competing in the live auditions will be required to attend a mandatory meeting before the scheduled live auditions. Meeting is scheduled for July 9th, at 6:30 PM at the WCC.
- Participants selected for live auditions will perform before a live audience and a panel of judges.
- All contestants are required to check in 45 minutes prior to their audition start time and prepare to wait until called. Failure to check in prior to your call could result in disqualification.
- Contestants competing in the semi-finals will be required to attend a mandatory meeting after the audition date. Meeting is scheduled for July 16th at 6:30 PM at the Wellington Community Center
- Finalists will have their picture posted on the Wellington website. Their final performance will be aired on Channel 18.
- Finalists will perform at the Wellington Amphitheater for a live audience on July 28th.
- The decision of the judges is final in all matters.
- If the winner is disqualified for any reason, Wellington reserves the right to award the prize to the second-place contestant at its sole discretion.

Performance Requirements
- Performances must be totally self-contained.
- A sound system will be provided by the Wellington Amphitheater for group/solo artists. A group/solo artist must bring an instrumental CD clearly labeled.
- Time limit for all live performances is 3 minutes.
- Props are permissible; however, the placement of props must be completed within 2 minutes. All props must be cleared from the stage immediately following the performance. No littering of the stage allowed.
- No coaching is allowed during live performances.
- Judging of the performances will be as follows:
Top 48 to 60 = a panel of judges
Top 24 = celebrity judges (a 3 judge panel)
Top 12 = celebrity judges, live
Tie = additional performance; judges vote
Top 24 = celebrity judges (a 3 judge panel)
Top 12 = celebrity judges, live
Tie = additional performance; judges vote
Prizes
Cash prizes will be awarded to a Grand Prize winner and four (4) Runners-Up. The Grand Prize winner will also be given a scholarship from Talent, Inc. valued at $1,950 for the Orlando convention where the winner will perform in front of a minimum of 30 agents. The winners will be featured at the Wellington Amphitheater at a special concert. The First Place Grand Prize Award will be selected from all categories. The winners are responsible for paying all taxes on prizes.
- 1st Place Grand Prize Award: $500.00
- Runners-Up (one from each age group): $250.00

The Wellington Community Center will accept registrations from 8:00am to 6:00pm Mondays through Thursdays.
***NO Entries will be accepted after June 26th, 2012***
What to Bring:
- Application Form (one per Individual)
- Waiver of Liability (18 and over)
- Waiver of Liability and Parental Consent (for Minors)
- Non-Refundable Application Fee ($25.00 per Individual/$50.00 per Group) made payable to the "Village of Wellington"
- (1) Headshot
- Proof of Birth Date (Photo ID, Birth Certificate, etc.)
- A link to a YouTube video of your performance ---OR--- A CD (Singers, Group, Instrumentalists only) or DVD (Dancers, Troupe, Scenes, Monologues, Magic Acts, Comedians, Impressionists, etc.) of your performance. Lip synching will not be accepted!*
*CDs and DVDs must be clearly labeled with each performer’s name, title of the piece, phone number, and category. CDs and DVDs can be no longer than 3 minutes -NO Exceptions. CDs and DVDs will not be returned!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Rated G please! Lyrics, costumes and performances should be appropriate for all audiences. Music and performances will be screened for appropriateness.Once your entry is received it will be reviewed by a selection committee.
