Wellington Receives LWCF Grant for Dorchester Park Facilities
Wellington’s Council approved an agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant in the amount of $200,000 for Dorchester Park facilities.
The LWCF Program provides grants for outdoor recreation and conservation lands. The Dorchester Park project includes an observation deck, picnic facility, waterfront access multi-purpose trail, landscaping, renovation of playground, and other outdoor amenities which qualify for grant funds under the LWCF program.
Wellington will match the LWCF grant award of $200,000. The project is currently in the design phase and will be constructed over the course of the next fiscal year. Dorchester Park is part of Wellington’s Neighborhood Parks system which includes 29 parks throughout the Village of Wellington.
